Your Hometown Vet featured Services
From surgeries to alternative medicine, we do it all!
Dentistry
Annual Dental exams and cleanings are recommended to protect your pet from many health problems and help them maintain a healthy and clean mouth. We offer tooth exams, cleaning, and polishing, as well as extractions and oral surgeries.
Radiography
We’re equipped to perform routine radiography services to identify many types of illness or injury when pets are sick or suffer a trauma. We use radiology alone or in conjunction with other diagnostic tools depending on the patient’s condition.
Laboratory Services
Diagnostic testing can identify problems your pet may be experiencing so that proper treatment can begin before a condition worsens. We will blood, urine or fecal samples to test if necessary to check your pets’ kidneys, liver, pancreas, and endocrine system.
Wellness Exams and Vaccinations
Preventative care is an important aspect in maintaining your pet’s health. Annual wellness exams evaluate your pet’s overall health, detect problems before they become serious, and keep them on track to live a long, healthy life.
Alternative Medicine
Laser therapy can be helpful in the treatment of many different conditions such as chronic ear infections, inflammatory bowel disease, allergies, lick granulomas, arthritis, joint disease, hip dysplasia, back problems, healing wounds and surgery sites. Our doctors and licensed veterinary technicians have been specially trained in laser therapy and can help customize a treatment plan for your pet.
• Medical acupuncture can be defined as the insertion of slim, sterile needles into specific acupuncture points along the pet’s body which cause a desired healing effect. We use acupuncture either by itself or in conjunction with traditional veterinary medical procedures to treat a wide variety of conditions your pet may be experiencing. It is a virtually pain-free treatment, and most pets relax and sometimes fall asleep during treatment. It is one of the safest forms of medical treatments for pets when it is administered by a properly trained veterinarian.
• Hydrotherapy uses the natural properties of buoyancy, resistance, and hydro-static pressure for a rigorous cardiovascular workout with reduced impact and stress on joints. It offers low-impact, high-resistance therapy. Hydrotherapy is beneficial for ailments such as joint conditions, arthritis, soft tissue injuries, post orthopedic surgery, weight loss, muscle strength and restoration, and easement of pain.
• Chiropractic refers to the practice of manipulating the spine to treat disease. Chiropractic treatment is one of the few modalities in veterinary medicine where results are often immediate and are often seen within minutes of treatment. In general, improvements are defined as an improved gait and an apparent reduction in pain.
End of Life Care
Euthanizing a pet is not an easy decision. We are here to discuss options and assist in every way we can during this difficult time.
• As much as we would love for all our pets to be in our lives forever, there comes a time to say goodbye. Euthanasia offers a peaceful, controlled option for the end of our pet’s life. Based on your pet’s quality of life, euthanasia may be something to consider.
• We work with a local business offering burial and cremation services.
• Our veterinarians are available to discuss your options. They are very familiar with the experience and can talk about the process and the feelings that come with it. Please make an appointment or contact us for information on options, timelines, and references for support through the grieving process.
Surgery
We offer Spay and Neuter surgeries as well as soft tissue surgeries. Before any operation, we will assess your pet to minimize risk. While your pet is under anesthesia, we take individual care for the safety of each pet. Our certified technicians and doctors are trained in advanced monitoring to ensure your pet’s comfort.
• Spaying, also called an “ovariohysterectomy,” is a surgical procedure in which both ovaries and uterus are completely removed from your female pet while they are under general anesthesia. Castrating refers to the surgical procedure in which both testicles are removed while your male pet is under general anesthesia.
• Soft tissue surgery is recommended for a variety of reasons. The most common soft tissue surgeries for animals are hernia repairs and mass removals. More advanced soft tissue surgeries include cystotomy, abdominal exploratory surgery, and splenectomy.
Microchipping
Microchip identification is the most reliable way to reunite Jost pets with their owners. The small microchip (the size of a grain of rice) is injected under the skin between the shoulder blades of your pet in a relatively harmless veterinary procedure. The chip is permanent, lasting the whole life of the pet. Your information must be registered with your bar code number so that you can be contacted if your pet ever becomes lost.
